The Althoff-Ambos-Film AG (AAFA film) was a German film production company in 1920 years ago during the Weimar Republic .

Company history

Aafa AG's predecessor was the company “Radio-Film AG” founded on June 2, 1920. The first stock exchange listing took place on July 10, 1920 . In the course of 1921 there was a strong expansion . Radio-Film-AG initially took over Gustav Althoff's companies in Berlin, Hamburg, Dortmund, Cologne, Frankfurt a. M., Munich, Breslau and Danzig. Later the "Ambos-Film-Export Dworsky & Levy KG" led by Rudolf Dworsky and Gabriel Levy and the company "Ambos-Film GmbH" (1918: "Anvil-Film Dworsky & Co") were added. As a result of these takeovers, “Radio-Film AG” changed its name just one year after it was founded and went public again on March 20, 1921 under the new name “Aafa - Althoff-Ambos-Film AG” . According to a stock exchange listing, the share appeared in the open market on the Hanover stock exchange.

The company produced a large amount of films in the silent film era. This also included productions with film greats like Leni Riefenstahl .

The company, which had been run by the Jewish businessman Gabriel Levy until then , was dissolved in October 1934 in the course of the National Socialists' aryanization measures after the forced bankruptcy and was then no longer listed in the manual of German stock corporations .
