Alto Caparaó is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Minas Gerais .
The community became independent in 1995. 5,428 inhabitants live there (official estimate 2016; Census 2010: 5,297 inhabitants) on 104.57 km².
The place is known as the most important entrance to the Caparaó National Park . In addition to tourism for mountaineers, coffee growing is an important branch of business.
