Document in old Permian script

The old Permian script is an alphabet that was formerly used to write Komi .

The script was invented in the 14th century by the missionary Stefan of Perm . In addition to the name altpermisch is also the name Abur (after the first two letters of the alphabet) common. Some of the characters in the script show a strong Cyrillic influence.

The old Permian script was superseded by the Cyrillic script in the 17th century and has been out of use ever since.

In June 2014, the font was included in the Unicode 7.0 standard as the Unicode block Old Permian (U + 10350 – U + 1037F).
