Alwin Bear

Alwin Bär (* 1941 ; † 2000 ) was a Dutch pianist .

In 1952, at the age of eleven, he became a student of the composer and pianist Hans Osieck. Later he studied in the Netherlands with Piet Vincent, Willem Andriessen and Ton Hartsuiker, and abroad with Vlado Perlemuter , Eduardo del Pueyo, Géza Anda and Andor Foldes .

His international career began in 1962 when he played Chopin's first piano concerto . He then played with various Dutch and international orchestras. In 1975 Bär was the winner of the Arnold Schönberg competition . In 1999 and 2000, recordings of his play were made in Schloss Haus Berg. He played works by Modest Mussorgsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff , which were published on CD.
