Alypios (music theorist)
Alypios († after 350) was a Greek theorist of the music of ancient Greece .
Alypios created today's main source of ancient Greek notation 'Eisagoge mousike' (introduction to music) around 350 AD. The treatise contains the 15 ancient Greek tone series (transposition scales) according to the diatonic , chromatic and enharmonic tone sex with the individual characters for the vowel and instrumental notation.
