The Alytaus Arena is a sports center in the sixth largest Lithuanian city of Alytus . The Alytaus arena is located in the street Naujoji g. 52 . It is the home stadium of the BC Alytus basketball team ( LKL and BBL ). The operator of the arena is a public institution ( Alytaus sporto ir rekreacijos centras ).
history
The construction project started in 2009 and the highest point of the construction work was reached on October 23. The arena was built by UAB “Struktūra”.
The arena was opened on February 12, 2011.
From August 2011 to September 2011 the games of preliminary group C of the 2011 European Basketball Championship took place here.
