Alytaus tekstilė was a Lithuanian textile company in southern Lithuania with its headquarters in Alytus . It was previously listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange.
history
In 1965 the construction of the company began. In 1969 the combine (Alytaus medvilnės Kombinatas ) was established. It built a culture house, which later became the Alytus cultural center . After regaining independence, the company was privatized. On September 24, 1993 an AB was established. In 2004 there was Valstybinė akcinė įmonė "Alytaus tekstilė". In 2006 the company made a loss of 6.7 million LTL or 1.94 million EUR (2005 about 1 million EUR and 2004 about 3 million EUR), with a turnover of 66.2 million Litas (19 , 2 million euros).
In 2007, Alytaus tekstilė employed 1,300 people. At the beginning of 2007 insolvency proceedings were opened for the company and privatization was initiated. The Republic of Lithuania held 69% of the company's shares, which were transferred to the State Property Fund ( Valstybės turto fondas ) by the Lithuanian government . On December 13, 2013 the company was dissolved.
