Alytus was a basketball club from the city of the same name, Alytus , the sixth largest city in Lithuania. He played in LKL and was temporarily represented in the Baltic Basketball League (BBL). At the beginning the club played in the NKL , from 2007 in the LKL. The club's budget for the 2009/10 season was 890,000 litas (258,000 euros). After the 2010/2011 season, he owed 30,000 euros and became insolvent. In 2012 BC Dzūkija Alytus was built.
