Am I in Love is a song from the soundtrack of the American western comedy Pale Face Junior . The song, composed and written by Jack Brooks , was published in 1952. It was written for the aforementioned film with Bob Hope and Jane Russell . In the film, it is sung in a duet by Bob Hope and Jane Russell. The song deals with the question of whether you are in love and how you can tell that it is so. At the same time you know that you feel different, that you want to dance and sing and that your head is going crazy, and that you very much wish that it was so ...

On I in Love was honored with an Oscar nomination in the category "Best Song" in 1953 , but lost to the song High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me) by Dimitri Tiomkin and Ned Washington from the western Twelve Noon .

The song, written by Jack Brooks, should not be confused with the song of the same name written by Ron Barrett and Howard Ryan; he was u. a. covered by Barbara Lea ( Lea in Love , Prestige , 1953).
