History and architecture
The building in closed development with a front garden was erected in 1896/97 by the building contractor Karl Wiedemann. The richly structured and decorated neo-baroque building, which defines the main road leading to the border crossing, is characterized by a central bay-like porch that emphasizes the ground floor and the first floor. This is closed on the second floor by a canopy- crowned balcony (with wrought iron bars). Skylight windows are built into the portal, through which the light falls into the entrance hall. The interior is adorned with stucco and colorful floor tiles, as well as wood paneling from the end of the 19th century in the plinth area. Beautifully etched panes of glass have been preserved on the left porch door and on the stairwell. The interior is also designed in the neo-baroque style.
