Amadou Gakou
Amadou Gakou (born March 25, 1940 in Dakar ) is a former Senegalese sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he was eliminated over 400 m in the preliminary run. In 1965 he won bronze over this distance at the Africa Games in Brazzaville .
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he finished fourth in the 400 m in 45.01 s, a national record that is still unbroken in 2020. In the 4 x 400 meter relay , he was eliminated in the run-up.
In 1972 he reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Munich over 400 m .
