Amalgamated Drawing Office
The Amalgamated Drawing Office was the development and construction division of the British Motor Corporation . Since the early 1950s, the projects processed there have been given the designation "ADO" with a consecutive number. Some of them later stood for models produced in series.
Contrary to popular belief, “ADO” does not stand for “Austin Drawing Office”.
Roy Haynes, Alec Issigonis and Harris Mann worked here, among others .
