Amanus (painter)
Amanus was a Roman painter who worked in the early Imperial period .
It is only known from a funerary inscription that was found in Rome in Via Salaria. The inscription identifies him as a slave of the Roman historian Gaius Sallustius Crispus and as a painter. It is:
