Amasus Shipping BV is a shipping company based in Delfzijl, the Netherlands .
history
The company was founded on January 1st, 1981 and initially primarily addressed the captain of coasters , for whom various services were offered, such as the undertaking of chartering, manning and financial management. The founders G. Mos and J. Toxopeus had previously worked for the Delfzijler shipping company Wagenborg . After half a year, Amasus was already looking after a fleet of around 20 coasters. By 2019, the managed fleet had grown to 77 ships between 850 and 10,000 tons deadweight. Amasus' activities include nautical and technical management, crewing and financing of the ships. As a further mainstay, Amasus works as a broker for ship purchases and sales and offers handling, stowage and storage services as well as offshore and towing services. The shipping company has offices in Delfzijl and Eemshaven.
