Koninklijke Wagenborg B.V. is a Dutch shipping, transport and supporting offshore company based in Delfzijl .
history
Wagenborg was founded in 1898 by Egbert Wagenborg (1866–1943) as a shipping company for the transport of passengers and cargoes. In 1999 the company was awarded the Koninklijk award. The company was one of the 50 largest family-owned companies in the Netherlands in 2010.

- Wagenborg Offshore BV (drilling platform and shipping company services for offshore oil / gas production in Europe and Kazakhstan )

- Wagenborg Passenger Services BV (ferry service between Holwerd and Ameland and between Lauwersoog and Schiermonnikoog )
Passenger service
The ferry service between Borkum and Norderney was maintained until 1914 .
The passenger service began with the ship Ameland I and has been operated by around 48 ships in its 112-year history. The fact that the ferry service was also operated with multi-purpose ships is proven by the ship that entered service as Wotan in 1915 , sold to Egbert Wagenborg in 1919 and renamed Vooruitgang II . The ship also served as a tug on the Dortmund-Ems Canal until 1922 and exclusively as a passenger ship until 1927 and was given the name Baltrum I when the shipowner changed .
At the suggestion of Sake van der Werff , the Groningen – Schiermonnikoog ferry service was set up on June 30, 1915, and from 1917 onwards, the Oostmahorn –Schiermonnikoog and Holwerd – Ameland ferry services were also called “Reichsfährdienste” . At the end of 1927 and beginning of 1928 the monopoly was confirmed.
Airline
The attempt to set up an airline between Groningen and Schiermonnikoog in 1920 was given up in the same year.
