Louisa Chafee

Louisa Chafee (born September 24, 1991 in Providence , Rhode Island ) is an American sailor in the boat class Nacra 17 .

Life

Louisa Chafee was born in 1991 to the politician Lincoln Chafee and his wife Stephanie and grew up with a brother and a sister. She attended Phillips Academy in Andover , Massachusetts , where she graduated in 2009. She then studied folklore and mythology at Brown University , where she graduated in 2014 with a thesis on dragons .

In 2016 she participated in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as part of the US delegation . In the sailing competition in the Nacra 17 class, which was held mixed for the first time, she and her teammate Bora Gulari came in eighth.
