Amaury Sánchez

Amaury Sánchez (* in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican musician, conductor, composer and music teacher.

Sánchez had piano and guitar lessons and studied percussion at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música . He was a percussionist in the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacionál for five years and in recent years also assistant to the chief conductor Julio de Windt . In this role he led the orchestra in performances by Andrea Bocelli , Plácido Domingo , Raúl Di Blasio and Richard Clayderman, among others . D Sánchez also founded the Orquesta Santo Domingo Pops and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Santo Domingo, of which he is the director. He has performed major Broadway and film musicals such as The Sound of Music (2000), Jesucristo Superstar (2003), Evita (2004), La Bella y la Bestia (2006), Peter Pan (2007), Regalo de Navidad , Cabaret and Annie (2008), Cats and Cenicienta (2009), Chicago and Westside Story (2010), Las Aventuras de Willie (2010-11), Dreamgirls and Tributo a Sinatra (2011) and El Mago de Oz (2012).

As a composer he emerged with works such as La Misa Festiva Dominicana , Fantasías Populares para piano y cuerdas and the ballet Doce, estados de ánimo . He also composed the music for the films Cuatro Hombres y un Ataúd , Negocios son Negocios , Mi papa se volvió loco and Mi novia está de madre and wrote the arrangements for the DVD Danny Rivera Sonfónico Live . As a music teacher, he heads the Academía de Formación Artística, which he founded .
