Career

college

Before Holt began her studies at Southeastern Illinois College in 2004 , she first studied one semester at Western Kentucky University . At Southeastern Illinois College, she also played for the women's basketball team. In her first season she already averaged 20.3 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game. In the following seasons, too, she was roughly able to maintain this pattern. In 2006 she moved to Middle Tennessee State University , where she finally graduated in 2008.

Women's National Basketball Association

Amber Holt was selected ninth in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun. She made her WNBA debut in a preseason game against the Minnesota Lynx . In her first season she was in the starting line-up of the Sun in all season games and was appointed to the league's all-rookie team at the end of the 2008 season . This year she reached the playoffs for a few times in her WNBA career, which ended in a first-round loss to the New York Liberty . In the second season for the Sun, however, their game shares and the point yield were reduced.

From the 2010 season she played for the team of Tulsa Shock . There she was in the starting line-up of the team more regularly, was also able to increase her points average, but the team did not succeed. This hardly changed for the Shock in either of the two seasons.

After the 2012 season , Holt did not play any more games in the WNBA. Up to this point she played in 5 WNBA seasons in the regular season 140 games, she was 92 May in the starting lineup and scored 962 points, 405 rebounds and 258 assists. In 3 playoff games (including one in the starting line-up) she scored 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.

Europe

During the WNBA season break, Holt played regularly for clubs in Europe, like many WNBA players. For a long time she was on the pitch for the Hungarian team at Euroleasing Sopron .
