Ambergrain is a German pop-rock band of Christian pop music from Mettmann .

history

The band around lead singer René Görtz and twin brother Pascal became known throughout Germany in 2000 through numerous engagements within the Christian music scene, including at Expo 2000 and various youth camps. At the beginning of 2001 the then five members - in addition to the twins Görtz, Tobias Schier on bass, Svenja on cello and Philipp on drums - received an offer for their debut album. Produced by Uli Kringler , the self-titled debut album Ambergrain was released a year later, in 2002, by Gerth Medien. In the following year, the band received over 40 concert engagements, which ultimately led to the departure of drummer Philipp for family reasons, who was initially followed by Benni Hartmann and later Bernd Oppel. The band began, encouraged by the A&R manager of their label, Arne Kopfermann , to prefer to write worship songs towards the end of 2003 . In mid-2004 the band got in touch with music producer Marc Ebermann for their second album. In 2005, the follow-up work was published by Gerth Medien under the title Places Of Truth . The focus on worship and worship music was well received by the scene.

After cellist Svenja and later bassist Tobias Ambergrain left over the years, the formation today consists of René and Pascal Görtz (both vocals and guitars) and Bernd Oppel (drums and percussion).
