The Ambros Brütting Bräu was a brewery in Bad Staffelstein in Upper Franconia . For a long time she was purveyor to the Bavarian court .

history

The brewery was founded by Ambros Brütting in the 17th century. In 1848 the then brewery owner Johann Brütting acquired the Staffelsteiner Gasthof Grüner Baum . Johann Brütting handed over the brewery and the inn to his son Ambros, during whose time the Wittelsbach resident at Schloss Banz , Max von Bayern, appointed the brewery to the ducal purveyor to the court .

In 1919 Ambros' son Karl took over the business together with his wife Babette. After Karl's death in 1951, his sons Ambros and Josef took over the business. After Ambros' early death, Josef Brütting continued to run the company on his own from 1983. The Ambros Brütting Bräu was family-owned until 1990, after which it had to be sold because of problems with the next generation. In 1994 or 1995 the brewery was closed. The brewery building was demolished in 1998/1999.
