The American Football and Cheerleading Association Baden-Württemberg e. V. ( AFCV Ba-Wü for short ) was founded on October 13, 1982 as AFV Baden-Württemberg / Rhineland-Palatinate (South-Southwest). He was one of the founding associations of the new American football umbrella organization founded on October 16, 1982, the American Football Association Germany (AFVD) .

On February 8, 1984, by resolution of the general assembly, the paths between Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate parted . On May 18, 1984, the former members agreed to form the association under the name AFV Baden-Württemberg Hohenzollern e. V. to continue to run.

Since then, efforts have been made to establish American football in the German sports world, which has been achieved through the inclusion of AFV Baden-Württemberg in all state sports associations and the LSV Baden-Württemberg. This also contributed to the fact that the AFVD was accepted into the German Sports Association in 1993 .

At the 2013 Association Day, the sport of cheerleading was officially included as part of the association's name. The association has had its current name ever since.
