The American Football and Cheerleading Association Schleswig-Holstein eV (AFCVSH) was founded on February 10, 1990 in Kiel and is the state association for the sports of American football , flag football and cheerleading . The founding clubs were the American Sports Club Kiel eV, the American Sports Club eV from Lübeck and Flensburg 08 eV. In 1991 they were accepted into the American Football Association Germany eV, in 1992 they were accepted into the Landessportverband Schleswig-Holstein e. V.
history
The AFCVSH is the oldest regional association for the sports it represents in northern Germany. The regional associations in Lower Saxony, Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were only founded later, while the regional association of Bremen (AFCV Nord) was still a regional association for several federal states when the AFCVSH was founded.

At the beginning of 2013, 1405 individual members were organized in the clubs.
Cheerleading
In 2005 the general meeting of the AFVSH decided to allow the establishment of a cheerleading association. In the future, this should represent the sport of cheerleading in Schleswig-Holstein as a state professional association. The cheerleading association Schleswig-Holstein eV was the first cheerleading association in Germany., Was a member of the AFVSH and performed the tasks of a state professional association. At the Association Day of the AFVSH, the membership of the cheerleaders and the name change of the AFVSH to AFCVSH were decided.
Game operation
The AFVSH has joined forces with the regional associations of Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Bremen to form Spielverbund Nord to carry out gaming operations. Men’s and youth leagues are organized together, thus ensuring that the game can be played.
Trainer training
The AFVSH is one of the few associations that offers training to become a C trainer. This training is also open to participants from other regional associations in return for a contribution to the costs.
Funding
The AFCVSH receives funds from the revenues of the Schleswig-Holstein Gambling Act in accordance with the promotion of sport through the state sports association.
