The American Record Guide (ARG) is a US- American trade journal that deals with classical music . It was founded in 1935 by Peter Hugh Reed to publish reviews of music. The editorial office is in Cincinnati , Ohio
In 1992, with the beginning of the collaboration with the Journal Musical America , the magazine began to also present concerts, musicians, ensembles and orchestras from the USA.
The magazine advertises that it has "up to 500 reviews in every issue, written by a freelance staff of over 80 writers and music critics" (up to 500 reviews in each issue, written by a freelance team of over 80 authors and music critics) . In addition to the latest publications in the field of music, most issues contain an overview of the recordings of individual works by a particular composer.
The editor, Donald Vroon (* 1942), was a radio journalist for National Public Radio in Buffalo , New York in the 1980s .
