The America Week is a German-language newspaper in the United States . The weekly paper is read in the USA, Canada and Germany. America Week can be purchased at many kiosks in the United States .

The newspaper was founded in 1956. In the mid-1990s, the publishers wanted to discontinue America Week . Up to this point it was a newspaper tailored only to German immigrants in the Chicago area . This concept was changed by the publisher Mario Schiefelbein (until 2002). The current publisher and owner is the ONA Publishing Corporation under Peter Lobl.

At the end of the 1990s, the German-language foreign newspapers Washington Journal and New Jersey Freie Zeitung were merged with America Week (see also German-language newspapers in the USA ).

Today America Week reports on a wide range of topics (politics, economy, culture, sport), all of which have to do with Germany in some way. A "nostalgia for lederhosen" should be avoided if possible. The editor is particularly interested in the bilateral relations between Germany and the USA.
