American-Antarctic Ridge

The American-Antarctic Ridge is a mid-ocean ridge , it forms a short piece of the interface between the Antarctic plate and the South American plate .

The American-Antarctic Ridge merges in the east ( 54 ° 50 ′  S , 0 ° 40 ′  W ) into the Southwest Indian Ridge and the Mid-Atlantic Ridge . In the west, the South Sandwich Trench is between 54 ° and 62 ° south latitude and 23 ° and 30 ° west longitude.
