The American memorial Château-Thierry is located on the hill 204, offers a wide view over the valley of the  Marne and is about 87 km east of  Paris . Not far (approx. 7.2 km southeast) is the American Aisne-Marne Cemetery of Honor. The memorial pays special tribute to the participation of American troops during the battles of Château-Thierry and Soissons (July 15-22, 1918) in the second battle of the Marne . It was built from 1929 to 1932 and inaugurated in 1933.

Two stone pylons mark the entrance to the memorial from the N-3 motorway that runs from Paris to Château-Thierry . The monument consists of a double colonnade that extends over a long terrace. On its west facade there are allegorical figures depicting the United States and France . The sculptor was the French-American artist Alfred Bottiau. The English inscription reads:

This monument has been erected by the United States of America to commemorate the services of her troops and those of France who fought in this region during the World War. It stands as a lasting symbol of the friendship and cooperation between the French and American Armies.
