Amherstview is a town in the Loyalist Township in the province of Ontario and is west of Collins Bay . About 6,000 people live there and Amherstview is a suburb of Kingston . Amherstview got its name from Amherst Island , located directly south of Lake Ontario .
The place is near the eastern end of the Loyalist Parkway , a stretch of Highway 33 that runs along Lake Ontario. The place is in an area where many subjects of the United Kingdom settled.
Amherstview is separated from Collins Bay by Coronation Boulevard, a small residential street on its easternmost border. On the west side it is only limited by Lennox & Addington County Road. There is also a considerable distance between Bath , the closest town to this road. To the north, Taylor-Kidd Boulevard is the limit.
