Amiga Future is a print and online magazine about the Commodore Amiga . The magazine was founded in 1998 by Andreas Magerl and is still published every two months to this day.

history

The first issue of Amiga Future was numbered 11. That was because the Amiga Plus magazine had published 10 special issues at the time and the Amiga Future was initially only classified as a special issue by the local ICP Verlag. Issues 11 to 26 were published by ICP Verlag and Falke Verlag. Only since issue 27 (October / November 2000) has the Amiga Future been created entirely by the editors themselves and distributed via APC & TCP (Amiga Personal Computer & Teamwork Computer Club Programming), which is why issue 27 has the official name first edition on the cover . APC & TCP was founded in 1992 and is one of the largest remaining publishers for Amiga software and merchandising.

editorial staff

The publisher and editor-in-chief of Amiga Future is Andreas Magerl, who is supported by around 50 freelance editors for the online and print edition. The headquarters of the editorial office is in Übersee (Chiemgau) in Bavaria. The current number of copies of the print edition is about 800 copies per issue.

content

The Amiga Future was originally founded as a pure game magazine for the Amiga. Over the years the magazine has changed into a magazine with all Amiga topics. Since issue 67, the Amiga Future has also been published in English. The Amiga Future is available as a single issue and by subscription, optionally with or without cover CD, directly from APC & TCP and from Amiga specialist dealers.

In addition to the print magazine, the editorial team is also very active on the Internet. The Amiga Future operates one of the largest Amiga websites. In addition to current Amiga news, licensed commercial Amiga titles, workshops, test reports and much more are published there. Many sold-out issues of the Amiga Future can also be read for free on the webpage.

In 2017 the editorial team of Amiga Future published an Android app for reading the latest Amiga news. The Amiga Future is also active with its own page in social networks such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or Google+.

In 2018, the Amiga Future celebrated its 20th anniversary with issue 130 (January / February 2018).
