Amjad Bashir

Amjad Bashir (born September 17, 1952 in Jhelam , Gujrat , Punjab ) is a British politician . Bashir, who works as a self-employed restaurant operator in Bradford and Manchester and was previously a member of the Labor Party and the Respect Party , was elected to the European Parliament for the UK Independence Party in 2014. There he is a member of the subcommittee on human rights. On January 24, 2015, UKIP decided to expel Bashir from the party and parliamentary group for involvement in financial irregularities; on the same day he announced his transfer to the Conservative Party .
