The hippocampus sclerosis is the most common neuropathological findings in the temporal lobe as a special form of epilepsy . The cells of the Ammon's horn are particularly susceptible to alcohol-induced damage, which then leads to Wernicke encephalopathy or Korsakoff syndrome .
