Among the Sleep is a computer game developed by the Norwegian developer Krillbite Studio . The horror adventure was financed by the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and published in May 2014.
action
The game starts on the second birthday of a nameless child. In the role of this child, the player explores his / her mysterious surroundings and has to advance by solving puzzles in the game, among other things. After the mysterious disappearance of the teddy bear, who is accompanying the baby, the toddler goes in search of it and successfully finds it, but not only the teddy bear disappeared, but also the mother. This is how the “journey” of the nameless child begins.
Game principle and technology
The using the Unity - Engine created Among The Sleep is a first-person -Adventure, that is, the representation of the action takes place from the perspective of the player. The camera can be rotated freely in all directions. Movement within the game world is done using the WASD keys. The interaction with the environment takes place via a cursor fixed in the center of the screen . This takes on an alternative form when it is positioned over an object with which an interaction is possible, whereupon a mouse click initiates this interaction. In this way objects can be moved or carried over shorter distances and, depending on the nature of the object, activated or opened.

Among the Sleep received mixed to negative reviews. The review database Metacritic aggregates 40 reviews to a mean value of 66. Among other things, the atmosphere of the game was praised, whereas its small size, for example, was criticized.

As of March 2015, over 100,000 copies of the game had been sold.
