The Brookman Point is the north-eastern headland of Grant Iceland before the Hobbs Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It advances into Reynolds Strait , which separates Grant Island from the north of Forrester Island .
The headland was discovered and mapped in February 1962 aboard the icebreaker USS Glacier under Captain Edwin Anderson McDonald (1907–1988). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named her in 1974 after Lieutenant Peter J. Brookman of the Civil Engineer Corps of the United States Navy , a senior officer at Byrd Station in 1970.
