The Hobbs Coast is a stretch of coast of West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land that stretches between Cape Burks at 74 ° 45 ′ S , 136 ° 50 ′ W and a landmark opposite Dean Island at 74 ° 42 ′ S , 127 ° 5 ′ W lies.
Scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered the coast. It is named after the American geologist William Herbert Hobbs (1864–1953), an expert on polar geography and history. The United States Geological Survey mapped the coast using the United States Navy's own measurements and aerial photographs between 1959 and 1965.
