The Eights Coast is a stretch of coast in the west of the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It lies between Cape Waite and Pfrogner Point . Upstream are the Thurston Island and the Abbot Ice Shelf, including the islands that are enclosed. The Bryan Coast connects to the east and the Walgreen Coast to the west .
The coast was mapped during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition during overflights, on land, and using aerial photography by the United States Navy between 1960 and 1967. It is named after the American explorer James Eights (1798–1882), who found the first fossils in Antarctica in 1830.
