The English coast is a stretch of coast in west Antarctic Ellsworthlandes (west of 72 ° W) and in Palmerland (east of 72 ° W). It lies between the northern tip of the Rydberg Peninsula and the Buttress Nunatakkern in Palmerland . The Rymill Coast connects to the north and the Bryan Coast to the west .

The coast was discovered and explored in 1940 by the two US polar explorers Finn Ronne and Carl Robert Eklund (1908–1962) from land and other participants in the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) from the air. It is named after Robert Allen Joseph English (1899-1969), captain of the Bear of Oakland on the second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd .
