The Wilkins Coast is a stretch of coast in the east of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Palmerland it lies between Cape Agassiz and Cape Boggs . The Bowman Coast connects to the north and the Black Coast to the south .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1953 after the Australian polar explorer Hubert Wilkins (1888-1958), who flew over the Antarctic Peninsula from west to east on December 20, 1928 with a Lockheed Vega from Deception Island and over the Stefansson Strait and the Hearst Island , both of which are halfway off the Wilkins coast.
