Cape Burks is a striking rocky cape on the border between the Ruppert coast in the west and the Hobbs coast to the east in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . The cape is the northwest extension of McDonald Heights on the east side of the entrance to Hull Bay .
The crew of the USS Glacier sighted and mapped the Cape on January 31, 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1962 after Lieutenant Commander Ernest Burks of the United States Navy , senior helicopter pilot on the USS Glacier and the first person to visit the Cape entered.
