Amphipyra tripartita is a butterfly ( moth )found in Asiafromthe owl butterfly family (Noctuidae).

With a wingspan of 51 to 57 millimeters, the moths are among the larger amphipyra species . The upper side of the forewing has a dark red-brown to black-brown color. The disk region is bounded by wide, straight white transverse lines, with the outer transverse line being reddish towards the edge. Ring and kidney defects are not recognizable. The upper side of the hind wings is chocolate brown without drawing. All of the undersides of the wings have no drawings and are dark brown in color.

distribution and habitat
Amphipyra tripartita occurs in eastern China , in Korea and on the Japanese islands of Honshū , Shikoku , Kyūshū and Tsushima .
Way of life
The nocturnal moths form a generation a year that flies from August to October. Details on the species' way of life have yet to be researched.
