The office was formed in the course of the administrative reform of 1852 and comprised the area of ​​the Freiburg part of the former Graefgericht of the state of Kehdingen . In 1859 it was expanded to include the previous Wischhafen office . From 1867 it formed the (tax) district of Stader Marschkreis with the Jork office . In 1885 the office was opened in the Kehdingen district , whose administrative seat was in Freiburg / Elbe .
