The former mine office was in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . It consisted of the four communities Dahme , Grube , Kellenhusen and Riepsdorf . The office last had over 4000 inhabitants and an area of ​​more than 60  km² . The seat of the administration was in Grube.

The office was founded in 1889 with the communities of Altratjensdorf, Dahme, Grube, Thomsdorf and Gosdorf. In 1937 Altratjensdorf, Thomsdorf, Gosdorf and the communities Koselau, Quaal ( Lensahn office) were incorporated into Riepsdorf (up to then also Lensahn office), and Riepsdorf joined the Grube office. After the dissolution of the office of Cismar, the municipality of Kellenhusen came to office in 1970. At the end of December 31, 2006, the office was dissolved. Riepsdorf joined the Lensahn office. The three remaining municipalities have since formed an administrative community with the municipality of Grömitz .
