The Serkenrode office was formed in 1843 from the parishes of Schönholthausen , Schliprüthen and Oedingen . The office existed until its dissolution in 1969.

history

The new office was created in 1843 during Prussian times and belonged to the Meschede district . It was made up of the earlier parishes of Oedingen, Schliprüthen and Schönholthausen. Serkenrode in the parish Schliprüthen was chosen as the official seat . In 1959 it was moved to Finnentrop , which had belonged to the parish of Schönholthausen. In 1961 the office had a size of 108.29 square kilometers 13,592 inhabitants. When the law on the reorganization of the district of Olpe came into force on July 1, 1969, the office was dissolved and divided between the city of Lennestadt and the municipality of Finnentrop .
