Gladbeck is the seat of the Gladbeck District Court , which is responsible for the city of Gladbeck in the southwest corner of the Recklinghausen district. Around 76,000 people live in the 36 km² judicial district . Ten judges' posts have been set up at the Gladbeck District Court.

Superior courts

The regional court superordinate to the Gladbeck District Court is the Essen Regional Court , which in turn is subordinate to the Hamm Higher Regional Court .

history

The District Court of Gladbeck was established on the basis of a Prussian law from May 28, 1912 to February 1, 1913 and at that time took over almost 47,700 court residents from the Buer District Court , which had been responsible for the Gladbeck office, which had left the Buer office in 1885 .

Bernd Wedig, who until then headed the Gelsenkirchen-Buer district court, has been the director since 2014.
