The Lüchow District Court was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Lüchow (Wendland) .

history

After the revolution of 1848 was the Kingdom of Hanover , the jurisdiction of the administration separated and the patrimonial abolished. The district court was then founded with the ordinance of August 7, 1852 regarding the formation of the district courts and lower administrative authorities as a royal Hanover district court. It included the Lüchow Office , the Clenze Office and the City of Lüchow. The district court was subordinate to the higher court of Dannenberg . With the annexation of Hanover by Prussia , it became a Prussian district court in the province of Hanover .

The court was dissolved in 1974. The district court of Dannenberg (Elbe) is responsible today .

Courthouse

The seat of the court was the official building at Theodor-Körner-Strasse 3. In the 1980s, the Lüchow police station with a focus on “Gorleben” was housed in this house. A special police organization that only dealt with crimes related to Gorleben .

The neighboring building was the seat of the district administrator, is still called the office building today and is a listed building (see list of architectural monuments in Lüchow (Wendland) ). It was also used at times by the local court and is now used as a registration and registry office by the Lüchow community .
