The district court of Meißen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of a total of 30 district courts in the Free State of Saxony .

Seat and District of the Court

The judicial district of the district court of Meißen comprises the southern part of the district of Meißen ( Section 1, Paragraph 4, Annex No. 18 of the Saxon Justice Act). The court is located in Bishop's Castle Meissen , Domplatz 3 ( Old Town ). A branch is located in Meißen, Neumarkt 19 ( Triebischvorstadt ).

The arbitration boards and their judges of the peace in the judicial district are also subordinate to the court .

Superior courts

The District Court of Dresden is directly superordinate to the District Court of Meißen . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court of Dresden .
