The Amtshaus is a listed building in Bad Doberan in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

It is located on the south side of Klosterstrasse in the area of Doberan Monastery at Klosterstrasse 1 .
Architecture and history
The large, simply designed single - storey half-timbered house was built between 1791 and 1793. Johann Christoph Heinrich von Seydewitz is accepted as the architect . The remains of the broken Doberan Castle served as building material . There are suspicions that the office building was built on the foundations of the castle. In the middle of the building with a a is Ochsenauge provided Zwerchhaus arranged. The building is covered by a high mansard roof .
The office building served as the seat of the Doberan Domanialamt . In 1879, official apartments for the forest administration were set up in the building. From 1947 it was known as boarding the College of Agriculture and later as a special school in use. In the summer of 1984 the city and district library was set up in the house. From 1990 to 1997 the office building was also the seat of the employment office . The library moved out of the building in 2001. During the period of use, renovations and losses of furnishings had occurred since the end of the 19th century. A long period of vacancy and decay followed. There were vandalism on.
In 2014, it was refurbished and converted into a church community center.
