Office building Grabnergasse
The office building Grabnergasse at Grabnergasse 4–6 in Vienna's 6th district Mariahilf has been a listed building for the City of Vienna since June 1, 2003 ( list entry ) . It is the headquarters of MA 31 - Vienna Waterworks and the control center of Vienna's water supply .
description
The core of the building was built in 1854 on the area of the Gumpendorf military cemetery, which was closed in 1784 , and had three floors. At an unknown point in time, the building was extended and rebuilt. The facade of the early historical functional building was partly built in exposed brick with a central projection and pilaster strips . In addition, the Grabnergasse administrative building is decorated with small pieces of early historical decor.
Between 1960 and 1965, the office building, which was also the seat of the Municipal Department 30 - Sewerage, was extended by an addition according to plans by the architect Hanns Kunath.
