Amy Kuney (* 1985 ) is an American musician . She is a singer , composer and instrumentalist.

Life

Kuney is from Tulsa , Oklahoma. She received piano lessons from the age of five and participated in church music during her childhood. As a twelve year old she composed and wrote her first song.

When she was thirteen, she moved to Honduras with her family . At the age of 16, she began teaching herself to play the guitar . She was kidnapped while on a trip to Guatemala with friends when she was 17. She later processed the experiences she made in the song How the Wind Must Feel .

In 2005 and 2006 she wrote and sang songs in two episodes of the television series Gilmore Girls . In August 2008 she released the studio album Bird's Eye View . In March 2009 she received an award for the song Thank You For Last Night .

Together with the actors Austin Nichols and Sophia Bush , she created a charity CD entitled Gasoline Rainbows , 100% of which will be donated to the victims of the oil spill in Mexico.
