An Jae-hyun ( Korean 재현 에게; born December 25, 1999 in Incheon ) is a South Korean table tennis player . He is right-handed and uses the shake hand grip. An is under contract with XIOM. He plays with a Chinese rubber on his forehand, while a XIOM Omega 7 Pro sticks to his backhand. From the South Korean association he received the approval for the German club TTC Neu-Ulm to start.

Career

An started playing table tennis at the age of 9. According to his own statements, his parents and grandparents also played table tennis. In 2015 he was seen on the international stage for the first time at the age of 16.

His first major tournament that same year was the World Youth Championships , in which he beat Can Akkuzu in singles and finally reached the quarter-finals. In doubles, the Korean was also able to win bronze, with the team he took silver. In 2016 he was allowed to take part in his first men's tournament, the Korea Open , but was eliminated in the preliminary round, including against Gustavo Tsuboi . At the Youth World Cup in the same year, An achieved first place, and the team was again silver.

At the Korea Open 2017 he was able to beat Wang Tei-Wei in the U21 competition, the Youth World Cup was very successful for him, in doubles, in the team and in mixed competition, he was able to win a medal; give up.
