At ferry bridge 3 (Stralsund)
The house with the postal address An der Fährbrücke 3 , also called Silo V , is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund in the street An der Fährbrücke on the corner of Hafenstraße . It belongs to the ensemble of granaries on the harbor island and thus shapes the silhouette of the city.
The tall brick building with a high pitched roof was built between 1939 and 1940 and was the last of the granaries on the harbor island. The building was used as a silo for grain .
The facade of the gable ends to the ferry bridge and the harbor have pilaster strips , in addition, small windows are arranged on four floors towards the harbor and a relief of a cog over a coat of arms is placed in the gable .
Next to the silo were initially two grain conveyor towers that were connected to the silo by a pipe; they were torn down. A door in the outer axis on the fourth floor is reminiscent of this.
The house is located on the outskirts of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered with the number 44 in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund .
