Hafenstrasse (Stralsund)

The harbor road on the harbor island in the city 's Old Town in Stralsund connects the road to the ferry bridge with the road on a long channel . It runs over the northern and southern port island. The Neue Semlower Strasse , Neue Badenstrasse , the street Am Querkanal and the Holzstrasse go off the Hafenstrasse. The cross channel bridge is part of the Hafenstrasse, which is part of the outskirts of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Old Towns Stralsund and Wismar .

The road was created in connection with the embankment of the harbor islands in the 1860s.

Seven of the buildings in the street are under monument protection (see also list of architectural monuments in Stralsund ), namely Hafenstrasse 6/7, Silo IV , Hafenstrasse 8, Speicher I (“Türmchenspeicher”), Hafenstrasse 9/10, Speicher II , Hafenstrasse 13 , Hafenstrasse 15 , Hafenstrasse 16, Silo III and Hafenstrasse 50 (“Lotsenhaus”).

The Ozeaneum Stralsund is one of the important buildings on Hafenstrasse .
